Texas Tech University Psychology Department is currently looking for parents of children between the ages of 3 and 7 whose child has a diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). What is the purpose of this study? The purpose of this study is to teach caregivers strategies to decrease behavior problems in children with ASD in a small group format. What is required? You would answer questions about your child's behaviors and symptoms of ASD, your stress, knowledge of child behavior, and attitudes about the therapy you receive. You will also be video recorded interacting with your child. How long will it take? Participation will include 5 sessions that will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Childcare would be provided. What will I get for participating? You will receive $30 compensation and a treatment manual for parents of children with ASD and behavior problems, and learn strategies to reduce child behavior problems.
