Hello everyone. I just signed up for this group a couple of

days

ago. The new member welcome said to tell some things about

me, so

here goes. I am 38, mother of 2; daughter and son,

grandmother of a

wonderful little girl. I have gone through a divorce and

have gotten

remarried. I was diagnosed with fibro about 4 years ago. I

had been

going from specialist to specialist. My legs have hurt me

since I

was an infant, but I think that is not necessarily part of

my fibro,

although it certainly affects every thing it seems. I am

not

currently taking any pain medication for the fibro on a

regular

basis, but only because I am trying to fight it and not

give into

it. Before I was diagnosed, I had been seeing doctors on

and off for

about 15 years. It was a BIG relief to finally have a word,

any

word, of what was wrong with me. It would be even better to

find out

why my legs are hurting. Can you have fibro from birth? Is

it

possible? I have experienced the " fog " but I don't go

through it on

a regular basis yet. The thing I hate most about this, is

that no

one understands how bad the pain is. And I hate taking pain

pills,

because it makes me feel weak, like I am letting the fibro

beat me.

Pretty silly huh? Well, thanks for listening to my intro. I

am

looking forward to being part of this group. Nora.

1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with

everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't

work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some

treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds

as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous

in general.

2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what

it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the

first step to trying to make that situation better.

Have a nice day everyone.

Thank you for welcoming me to the group. I saw that you are from

Ontario Canada. Me and my husband are coming up to Sault Ste Marie

at the end of Sept. We are going to camp on the mich. side, and

spend a day in Canada. We are really looking forward to the trip,

although I am not neccessarily looking forward to camping, it tends

to make me really sore..lol. I think we are just going to drive and

take in the beautiful scenery. Nora.
