Guest guest
Grey, I am so glad the surgery went well. Did they leave the stint in? You know if that spinal stopped the pain in your legs.....I have a friend who gets epidurals(sp?) in his back for lower back pain. I would think they could do the same thing for your leg pain. Most docs are not interested in alleviating pain. I read an article the other day that said there is a whole new train of thought among medical school professors and doctors that think controlling pain is extremely important to a patients well being and total recovery.....DUH!! It is easy to get depressed and give up when all you have to look forward to is another day of pain. Feel better, Joyce >> Hey gang, Just got back about 7:pm. Operation went as expected. I found my orthopedic at the orthopedic and sports med office. He strictly handles patients with chronic pain with meds only. They have a lot of restrictions and regulations, but It is worth it.Sports med I think the only ones that do this since the medical profession decided chronic pain a true PHYCIAL illness, not just to get pain meds. Guest guest
Doc says he wants to leave stint in place for 6 weeks, take it out and use laser surgery to ream it out. If this doesn't do the job, He plans to go back in with a new stint every 6 months. Sounds like I might be a regular costomer. Guest guest
Hello Sher, I don't remember having read about any connection to PF. That {kidney disease} is one of the by products that can be caused by extreme diabeties. If not treated correctly and monitored, kidney disease will take you out of this world real fast, and like PF, there is not much that I can find posted on the web sites other than dialises. My spelling may not be correct every time. The reason for concern in my case is my kidney functions have been deterating for whatever reason. My family doctor wanted to know what was going on so she sent me to urology surgeon. My other posts explained my procedures so far. I was taken off some heart meds in the past because of kidney concerns. You really have to have a good family doctor who is willing to farm you out to a bunch of specialisis to keep up with everything. I have so many doctors that I have to keep a list. I watched a friend next door let diabeties and complications from it kill him, so I had a good teacher. Stay well.......Grey Re: Gray Grey - I'm glad you are home and OK. Guest guest
Hi Peggy, They played a good joke on me after the kidney procedure. They use a strong antiseptic on your bottom while doing the procedure. They did not clean me up afterwards because they left a catheda as I was paralyezd from the waiste down. d me to recovery under hot sheets all day. Could not feel a thing until my bottom started stinging. I tried to take a shower last night and jumped out like a shot cat. Felt like a hot torch was blowing between my legs. I took some of the pain pills and that helps some, but i,m sitting here now squirming, trying to get some releif. Ow I can tell he polked something into that kidney. Sets it on fire when I make water. now I know what the pain pills are for. Keep the posts coming. Gives me something to do. Grey 10-05 GrayGray, You know you are in our prayers. I just started going through the 274 e-mails (wow we are a prolific group!) nut had to tell you my bottom is rashed and sore also. My biopsy is over, my side is killing me and I found out I am alergic to morphine. They think I have sarcoid but won't know for sure till ythe path results come in. You're right. Guest guest
Grey, You are so smart to be such a good manager of your healthcare. Diabetes kills a lot of people way too young. I know there are a lot of people who don't take thier diabetes seriously and the consequences are predictable. However, I have a good friend who is 87. For the 30 years I have known her she has dealt with Diabetes. She is very attentive to diet and medication. She drives herself and her husband to Florida and back every year. They are out and about every day. It pays to be smart! I do realize, though, that she has been very blessed. Not all sufferers are so fortunate. I am praying for you.
