Guest guest
Know you said not good time to change drs, but if possible ask pulmonary to suggest a new rheumatolgist Joy~ce, If you change Drs. be sure the new physician has a copy of everything medically from the past on you. I had to get a new primary Dr. last November I believe it was. I made sure he had a copy of everything I had been through. I looked him in the eye and told him I hope he would take the time to look over my case and make himself familiar with what was going on with me. That way, he could work with my Pulmonary, and Rheumatology Drs. for the very best care that the three of them could give me with the disease I have. I feel sometimes we have to take an assertiveness, regarding *US* toward these professionals. We are paying for a service, whether outrite cash or through the high insurance premiums we pay. I told this primary Dr. that if he did not want to be my Dr., or take me on as his patient and work actively with the other Drs., to please, be upfront and tell me so. I said that I was aware that possibly he had all the patients he needed to keep his office and profession busy. But to just be honest with me, as this is my life and the quality therin. He was taken back a bit, but agreed to take me on as a his patient. I reminded him that it was I that chose him and that this was "his" interview.....lol. Guest guest
Peggy, I have two more weeks left. Aside from my insurance company not approving the med, I have not gotten a reply from my rheumatologist who has prescribed this for 7 years. I have written to him twice. My voice is so bad, I cannot call. I am so dissapointed in him. He was so good in the beginning. Now he has two nurse practioners who treat patients while he makes $$$$$. Nothing makes me so mad as going to the doc and them sending a nurse in. The office visit cost is the same! I always ask to speak to him. He acts antsy like he doesn't have time, but tuff tooties! He really worked to save my life in early treatment, now he always has his hand on the doorknob! It is not a good time for me to switch docs. Don't know just what to do. My pulmonary doc takes good care of me, though. Hugs, Joyce > > > Hi Gang, > > I was just reading through my insurance book and came across these words to> physicians. Guest guest
Joyce, I promise if I were you I would make an appointment. When Doc comes in the room just look at him and say " WE HAVE TO TALK " and hand him a letter with all your questions the block the door and don't let him out until you have your answers. Or maybe on the top of your letter put in large letters " I'm not leaving your office until we talk " I figure we have to much to loose not to get what we need.. Go get'em girl. Be sure to take a big tank so they know your there for the day.. Be sure you ask where his compassion went. I really would. Take back up with you. God be with you, I'll be praying. I am so worried about you not getting your meds. Peggy 9/04 ipf on 5/10/06 4:54 PM, janne5303 at joycedalton29@... wrote: Peggy, I have two more weeks left.
