Guest guest
Hi Gail, I was denied my first time. I then contacted a lawyer and he reapplied for me. I lost AGAIN. Now he has filed an appeal and I'm just waiting for a court date for the hearing. I think you should definitely get a lawyer. They are only paid when you get your disability. Good luck, Kay
Guest guest
Gail, I'm sorry you got turned down....I'm waiting anxiously to hear from my first appeal, which they warned me would probably be turned down the first time, so please let me know what you find out. I certainly don't have the money for an attorney, so I'm up the creek without a paddle when that denial comes :=( cyn At 02:01 AM 7/22/2004 +0000, gpn258 wrote: >Hey Everyone, Its Gail in Georgia..I got my first claim denied >today,, now heres my question... Guest guest
I have an unrelated/related story. And hopefully somewhere you can go for help. Especially since this is an election year. I had gastric bypass surgery after my insurance company " precertified " me and gave me a pre cert number. After that, they told me they never " preapproved " me. I said you gave me a pre cert number and everything. They told me that they were two different things and I was never approved. I went right to my senator and never heard anything from them again!! It was in 1998. So, go to your senator with problems like that. He may help Margaret, Mom to the monsters Re: Denied First Round of SSI -- What do I do now? Guest guest
Kay, How much do the lawyers take? I've been eligible since April, and the SS person who first interviewed me told me I'd get back pay when I was approved. cyn At 12:35 AM 7/22/2004 -0400, mozart1143@... wrote: >Hi Gail, >I was denied my first time. Guest guest
Thanks for the advice, Gail! I've been worrying about it ever since I applied. A lot of lawyers advertise on TV, and there's one a friend of mine used. He said this guy is really good (all he does is SSDI claims) and got him his disability. So now I'm just playing the sit around and wait game. I still haven't heard from SS, and it's been several weeks since I saw their doctor. I don't know if that's a good sign or not. I just wish they'd hurry up and give me SOME decision! Thankyou again! cyn At 06:47 PM 7/22/2004 -0700, G N wrote: >Cyn,, No you are not up the creek without a paddle, you have the right to >appeal your ssi decision, What you need to do is find a attorney who deals >with SSI Disability Cases in your area. cyn clmerritt@...
