Thanks for the info. Went out yesterday and purchased it in a

Health food Store. My nausea is apparently a side effect from IPF and

I'm taking Prednisone 20mg per day. The pred helped me big time in the

beginning and I've slowly been reduced in dosage but for the last 6

days I've been experiencing nausea from morning t'ill late afternoon.

Has anyone else experienced this?? what did you do for it? My ox is 94

without the help of ox, with ox assistance 97%. Any physical exertion

will drop my ox to 87-88% (without ox assistance).

Thanks

Jim

found myself a top notch pulmonologist and a top notch rheumatologist and have had good treatment since.

Joyce, what type of treatment does your rheumatologist offer you, if I may ask? Mine has me on a regiment of chemo...cytoxin...1 gram a month for 6 months. I have had 4 doses. Its an all day affair...as I have to have something for nausea...which I have never ever had...and something to protect my bladder...as to be sure no damage is done there while the cytoxin passes through. The intent of this is to slow or stop the inflammation. I am learning so much here. Thank you so much.

The problem I am facing in this area of Texas is that there are not many pulmonologists! They were all over SLC! Of course, that probably doesn't say much for the air quality in SLC! mary janne5303 wrote: Oh , I am so sorry about your doctor situation. Yes, Nexium is for reflux....I take mine at night, since that's when most people have problems cause they are laying down. The Nexium has helped me a lot. Do you take your medications with food, too? You should...especially since we all take several medications. The food helps to prevent your stomach from being irritated.

Nelda,

Because my pulmonary fibrosis was caused by Lupus, the rheumatologist is treating me with immune suppressants. I have not been able to tolerate any of the usual ones so he has had me on Cellcept. (which is not approved for autoimmune disease but is being used by rheumatologists because it inhibits the very antibodies that autoimmune disease over produces. I have used it 6 years and it has had no side effects.) The insurance company is all of a sudden determined that I should not have it. But, I am appealing it. We will see. It is a battle all the way!

My body chemistry would not tolerate Immuran, let alone Cytoxin. I pray that it is a wonder drug for you.

Hugs,

Joyce

Do you know what a pulse oximeter is? It clips onto your finger and reads out the percentage of oxygen that is in your blood....one way to check and see how well you are doing when you exercise is to use the pulse ox....when I went to pulmonary rehab, they checked my number before and after each exercise. It also helped me because now I know when my number is low....I know what it feels like. It's good to exercise, but it's dangerous to push until your oxygenation is too low....your doctor should be able to send you to be evaluated. Going to the mountains shouldn't make any difference unless you are talking about Denver. Are you on oxygen now? Good luck.

Actually, it can make a difference...depending upon the person, what the altitude is. I need supplemental 02 if I am at any elevation greater than 2000'. This is why I have an oximeter. It allows me to know when I need to begin using my portable 02 concentrator. marydianequinlan@... wrote: Do you know what a pulse oximeter is?
