I would first of all like to say thank you so much to Leanne

for starting this support group..My name is Gerry and my husband

and we just found out this October that he has IPF/UIP.

also has selective IGA deficiency and we have been dealing with

constant lung infections, coughing, and difficulty in breathing since

the year 2000. Our doctors kept saying it was allergies and chronic

bronchitis. Finally we decided to make a trip to the Hospital Of

Pennsylvania and through much testing, was finally diagnosed.Wow,

we were relieved...then the ball dropped!No cure for you they said and

my husband is 65 and they told him he was to old for a lung transplant.

We were told the prognosis is 5 years. We were devastated.I started

searching the web immediately for some help.I came across this group

and I was so relieved. I have read so many messages that brought tears

to my eyes, but also hope in my heart. is currently going the

herbal route and we will definately use some of the supplements that all

of you have mentioned on this site. Thanks to all of you for posting

and God Bless You All. We will let everyone know how we are doing with

the herbs. & Gerry
