Hi ,

Got to tell you, some of the better dispatchers I ran across

were 18-19 when they began. Trained a few of them and they were eager

and willing to learn. I can be sure there dispatchers reading your post

that began at 18 also.

So welcome to the Mob, and all the best to you.

Hi again, Kelli! I see you found this list before I

could suggest it to you! This one is very busy - you

should get a lot of info!

That varies so widely from agency to agency! Some give skills tests,

others stress, most have some sort of a psych test.

Best advice is to relax (I know, easier said than done), follow the

instructions (big no-no here: keep writing after they tell you to put

your pencils down),and don't panic!

Smile!

everybody.... you gotta be a little off to stay in

this job!

is it just our little part of the country, or has

everyone lost their MINDS this weekend??? you'd SWEAR

it was a blue full moon again!!!!

we thought about asking the repeat callers if they'd

been taking their brains out and playing with them,

but figured admin would frown on that big time......

course we're also trying to figure out how to

disconnect that big 'they're back on duty' sign that

MUST be on top of our bldg. seems it only comes on

when we're back on duty=we've had 4 times the amt of

calls they had on dayshift, with 2 less ofcrs and we

still have 4 hours to go....aaagggghhhh......

5 weeks till vacation....yeah...countdown time....

don't ya'll just wish school would start up NOW, so

the call volume would go down?????

just some vents...:)

Ha, ha.....Shauna. When your call volume goes down, ours goes up -

dramatically. It's been really (yes, I'm going to say it...) QUIET this

summer..... *ducking the thrown phone books*

New dispatcher starts this Thursday. Have another good one that just needs

her final interview...*whew*
