Guest guest
So what does that actually mean and look like? Ive seen this mentioned in several other posts recently and it makes me think of the ARD Meetings Ive had for my son and the SD ARD members saying noncholantly "we 'considered' your suggestion and disagree". Is that all they ahve to do? how do I know they actually "considered" something? Is it just a word or is there some formality involved in it? I hope someone can better enlighten me as I have an ARD coming up by the end of the month and would like something to say when they bring it up that they so called "considered" something. Thanks. Guest guest
They must respond in WRITING and outline what they considered and be specific about why they denied it. Get the paper trail. Demand any denials in writing with an explanation.
Guest guest
The ARD process needs serious reviewing without a doubt. I once had a teacher tell me it's such a waste of time! I couldn't believe she said that. Then I had another expert in Autism ask me if I think that another teacher would admit she wasn't totally honest in ARD. Recently I read an article in a local magazine where they talked about how much money districts paid lawyers to deny families of their childrens rights. Finally I have learned through the major school of hard knocks how it is up to us to advocate for our children until they can be taught how to do it for theirselves. And... I must say with the way things are going today in public schools and the lack of funding it's quite challenging to stay positive. God bless us all! Sent from my iPhone this is the reason why i have always felt we need to advocate to change the ARD process > > So what does that actually mean and look like?
