Guest guest
Thanks Kristy Her curve was already causing things to happen to her body.? They told me her pelvis already shifted.? Her left hip was higher.? I took her to the doctor today because I was concerned that her hip looked even higher and she had pain under her right breast.? He said that it is all caused by her body trying to accommodate the spine on top being straight.? He said the hip should go back into place and if it doesn't in 3 weeks when we go back then she would need to wear a brace.? Worst case is that if it doesn't after that then they may have to do surgery on the bottom curve.? I am going to be doing alot of praying that she won't need that. Jeanne Re: 's surgery Hi Jeanne I am so glad that has gotten through her surgery! I know that you are both probably really relieved now that it is over! I hate to think about all the pain she must be in, but I know (since I have scoliosis) it is much better to be in this pain now, than to suffer through it later in life! Give her hugs from me and tell her I hope she gets well soon! Kristy angels2757@... wrote: Hi everyone, 's had her spine ?surgery last Wednesday.? It was a 5 hour surgery.? But everything went well.? They put a 7 inch metal rod in her spine.? She was in alot of pain when she came out of it, but they gave her the morphine and that helped.? Except that drug made her so out of it.? I had them stop giving her that the next night.? She could just push the button when she had pain.?? When they took her off that they then gave her percocet which ended up making her throw up.? After that they switched to tylenol but ended up giving her some codeine for severe pain she developed during the night.? Most of the nights are a blur for me since I was so tired.? When you are staying there with them they have you do alot for your kid.? We spent 5 days in the hospital.? Then only nice thing was the view of the buildings in New York and the view of the East River.? Since we have been home she is getting stronger.? She can't bend over or twist from the waist.? Someone has to be with her so she doesn't fall.? She is walking well but?her hip is still a little crooked.? She is going to be out of school for 3 to 4 weeks.? I am so glad this is over.? She has been really good about it.? Now we are waiting for her to get back to her active self.?? Jeanne __________________________________________________________ Email and AIM finally together. Guest guest
Thanks Donna, We are really glad that it is behind us now.? I have to be careful with her and how she moves around?so she doesn't fall.? That is what I was most afraid of when we left the hospital. Jeanne Re: 's surgery Glad to hear everything went well for . Hope she is feeling better soon. Try to get some well deserved rest. Donna Adam's gram angels2757@... wrote: Hi everyone, 's had her spine ?surgery last Wednesday.? It was a 5 hour surgery.?
