Guest guest
Jeanne- Yea, I know the MR dx is just a technicality and is probably not valid. Our deaf-blind consultant used the Oregon Project evaluation on Aubrie and she came out age-appropriate for cognition and socialization. The areas that she was delayed were all due to vision, hearing, and low muscle tone/mobility. I know that the evaluator slanted things to the negative as much as possible while still being accurate because that's what we needed in order to qualify for the program. If we were evaluating her for something in which a more positive finding was needed, we could probably slant it that way a bit. I think his evaluation was valid but not the only way to look at it.
