Guest guest
For those who've been on Lyrica - what can you tell me about it? Thanks in advance! , What did it for me was walking on crutches for 17 years and swimming every summer for 36 years (and pulling myself out of the pool). >Ahh yes, the shoulders....I understand. It's great! I hate exercising, but it doesn't feel like it with the Wii. >The Wii sounds good! Great idea! I was thinking of getting one myself! I talked to the pain Dr. today. He said in his 13 years of being a " medical specialist " he's never heard of pain going UP on Neurontin. I felt like saying, " I've been disabled longer than you've been a Dr. - I know when I'm in pain. " But I didn't. When he asked, " Is your pain going up or are you just more active because your pain is actually going down?, " I felt like going through the phone and doing bad things. lol! But I replied, " My activities haven't increased because I'm in pain! " He realized his mistake and started backpedaling. I'm calling my Neuro tomorrow and asking what to do. I've lost all confidence in this guy now with his condescending attitude. BUT he prescribed Lyrica in the meantime. He's giving me samples first, to see if it helps, because the med is so expensive. >As for pain going up on Gabapentin...this is a strong drug, it is not a >narcotic however. No one was ever really able to tell me " how " it worked, even >the company that makes it says they do not know " how " it works. Somehow it changes the way the body perceives the pain, key word " changes " So with that being said, I imagine it could change it one way as well as the other? The Dr. reassured me that neither Gabapentin/Neurontin or Lyrica affects the liver. With my recent experiences with him, I'm not sure whether to take his word for it now. >So, be CAREFUL and also be sure to watch your liver and kidney functions >closely!
