Guest guest
, I have problems with things tasting " bad " or " funny " too. I am frequently asking my poor husband to smell and taste things to see if they really do taste icky or if it is " just me " . I also have problems with things smelling bad or " funny " . Now, regarding the milk...... I used to be an avid milk drinker (as a child and well into my late teens/early 20's) but somewhere along the age of 22 or 23, milk began to smell awful to me and taste even worse so I stopped drinking it. I did not drink milk at all between the ages of 22/23 and 43; then I began to buy Horizion (brand) organic milk 1% or 2%.....I was AMAZED!!! Even at 1% milkfat it tasted and smelled the way I remembered milk being in my childhood!!!! I thought " this is fantastic!! Wonder what the whole milk tastes like. " so I bought some....I couldn't drink it because it was soooo RICH tasting! I now buy the 1% or 2% exclusively and am again enjoying milk. I don't know why milk started to taste/smell " off " to me...but I think its because of all the antibiotics and hormones begin given to the cows now. I don't know if buying the organic (some brands I don't like so I only buy Horizion brand) milk will help you...but it is worth a shot! I also buy as many organic veggies and other food products as I can...they just seem to taste better to me and they seem to give me fewer " tummy issues " . Blessings, Pixi > Okay, I am (and always have been) an very avid milk drinker. I have always found it tastes good and refreshing. I don't know if it is my meds, if I am coming down with something or if my groceers have just gotten some very bad boxes or what not. But lately it has been tasting very sour to me. My taste buds have always been over sensitive, but lately they seem to be either working over time or not at all (with more than just milk). > > Has anyone else had this problem? Is it just another side effect from my flare? And is there ANY way around it. Please someone, I MISS MY MILK!!!!! (and other foods) But I can't stand to drink (or eat) this stuff anymore until this clears up.... > > >
Guest guest
Thank you Pixi. I will definitely keep that in mind. I think we even get that milk here at normal stores. Although I can't imagine going 20 years without my precious milk. (holds glass of milk close and starts speaking like Golem from Lord of the Rings) " My....my....my....precious...... While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
I've had my taste buds go off for some time and then come back again. Hopefully yours will too. As for milk -- I love it but am lactose intolerant these days. I miss having a bowel of crunchy cereal in the morning with nice cold milk. Guest guest
Have you tried soymilk. I've completely switched over. I don't generally like the taste, but there is this brand called SunSoy in the refrigerated section by the milk that tastes great! I get the vanilla flavored one and use it for cereal. I don't drink it, but I never really drank milk anyways. Hope this helps!
