Cyn has really made me interested by her love of them. Periodically there is a reptile show at our fairgrounds. I am going to go sometime and see if they have the baby corn snakes. I know my choice of pet isn't for everyone, but I really do get comfort from them (physical as well as psychological). Yesterday my neck was hurting, and I took out my female Ball Python, Dashika. She immediately headed for my neck and shoulders and started bunching her muscles and relaxing them, pressing down on just the spots that hurt. I felt so much better after her " treatment " , and sometimes I wonder if these animals are psychic. They really do seem to know where I'm hurting the worst, and head right for that spot and seem to absorb the pain into themselves. Even the cornsnakes will do it, lol! I also held Cornelius, one of my smaller adult corns, and he immediately went up my sleeve and gave my back a wonderful massage that lasted about 20 minutes. Mickey, the water python, will wind around my legs and ripple his muscles and " massage " the pain away. They really do seem to have a special sense of locating my pain, and I've tried many times to figure out just how they know exactly where I'm hurting. And I know they really feel love for you too. You have created such a wonderful raport with them. I've had animals all my life. Played with little snakes up in the mountains when I was a kid (had no idea what they were and if they were poisonous). Watched with wonder when beautiful osprey tried to land on our deck at the cabin in the mountains. Was sleeping outside on the deck when a cougar passed underneath. Will play with anything wild if given a chance. (The closest to that lately is a mama squirrel and her younguns.) You are a good mama to your critters.
