Guest guest
my son has severe autism. On 2/20 my son's teacher called to say my son was having behavioral difficultities, my husband offered to go to school to help or pick up my son. His teacher said it wasn't necessary that he was just touching base to let us know how my son's day was going. Then as I was getting my son ready for bed I was removing his shirt he said ouch. I removed his shirt to find marks up my sons sides (both), that led all the way to his rings around the top part of both arms that appear to be hand marks. I took pictures and my husband called the teacher to see what happened. He said he didn't know what happened, he said he picked my son up and placed him in his chair but that would not have left these marks. First thing the next morning we went to the principal with all the info and picture. The principal asked my son where he got hurt, he said at school. She asked him where at school , he said room 19(which is my son's contained classroom 3 students, 1 teacher) The principal asked him who hurt him and he said the teacher's name. The teacher has been placed and administrative leave, tomorrow we will be going to the school to meet with the principal, head of HR, and the teacher. What can we expect? What rights do we have? How do we ensure he is not just moved to another school? Do we have the right to know what diciplinary action is taken? I need answers, please help. Guest guest
I would suggest that your get a special education advocate or attorney involved and get them to help you through it. This is serious and you need to get the appropriate level of support. Guest guest
You may contact me directly.Loretta,AdvocateSent from my iPad2 This sounds like your son was obviously abused at school. We had a similar thing happen to our son but he can't talk so you even have more evidence. First and foremost, do not let him return to school. As someone suggested, you can also call CPS to investigate. No matter what, I highly suggest you not send him back there. Please email me off line if you would like more information stlevine@... -----Original Message-----From: Texas-Autism-Advocacy [mailto:Texas-Autism-Advocacy ] On Behalf Of tonyandkelli2002Sent: Wednesday, February 29, 2012 10:46 AMTo: Texas-Autism-Advocacy Subject: help for my son my son has severe autism.
