I have Hashimoto's (dx'd in 2002). Have been on the " Hashi's Rollercoaster " for

a few years, but it's become worse over the last two years. Last July is when

the new & never before experienced symptoms began. I ended up in the ER at

2:30am due to waking up w/ my heart racing horribly, arms numb, dizzy, weak,

shaky, BP skyrocketed. My heart & lab work all checked out normal. I, with Dr.

Spurlock's permission, completely stopped all thyroid meds & slowly built back

up after a full workup with a cardiologist. Suddenly everything went back to

normal.

Fast forward to 2 months ago. It has all started again. I feel good, but out

of nowhere my BP will rise quickly & my heart rate soars. I get dizzy & shaky &

I have been feeling like something is " just not right " . It's scary as all get

out!

My most recent labs are because I wanted to check for possible Graves antibodies

(I wasn't sure if I was having Hashi's swings or if I'd been recently " blessed "

w/ Graves, too.) I also wanted to check my thyroid levels & possible adrenal

issues. The swings have been crazy. While waiting for the return of the lab

work, I had 4 of these heart racing episodes in one morning & immediately got in

to see another cardiologist. The EKG & 24-hour heart monitor showed no signs of

any problems. Of course, just like when your car is making a weird noise & you

bring it to the mechanic & then your car stops acting up.

I have cut my thyroid meds from Naturethroid 65 mg- 3x/day down to 1

Naturethroid in the morning. My temps were low for the longest time & now are

higher... finally. BUT, now my temps seem to be running high. Start out at

98.1 in the morning & hovers there for several, then around 3pm I'm suddenly

running 99+, this continues until anywhere from 6pm-bedtime. During that time I

can sometimes have palpitations. Sometimes I feel my BP & pulse go up.

I've been wondering if it's thyroid related (w/ Hashi's the thyroid suddenly

deciding to kick back in) or if it's adrenal related?

I have a very difficult time contacting my doctor & getting any answers in a

timely manner. I don't want to end up with heart damage or adrenal failure or

missing a key component before it's too late. I just feel lost & confused.

Does this lab work tell any of you wise, wonderful TX Thyroid Members anything?

I appreciate your time, support & assistance more than you'll ever know.

Gratefully,
