What would the initial statement be??? " I shouldn´t miss a loving feeling towards her. " ??? No. Can you explain, please, what you meant? Thanks, R. Guest guest
Hi Rosemarie. You asked for an explanation. > But on the other hand I miss a loving feeling towards her (that I > seem to have had before) . > > > ----->If you do The Work suffiently it may be apparent that you > didn't create the loving feeling nor did you remove it. *** I don´t find how to do the work sufficiently on that !!! What would the initial statement be??? ----->I wasn't saying to do The Work on THAT specific statement. It is a general, global, comprehensive understanding that comes from doing any kind of meditative inquiry or thought deconstruction (The Work being an example of such). In the aftermath of such examinations it may be seen that there really is not a " me " who creates or removes these things (thoughts, feelings, beliefs, memories). This is not to say they don't happen, are felt (sometimes very, very powerfully). No. It's simply a recognition that there is no person, no " me " as a static, unchanging, persisting " thing " which is " doing " any of it. Sure it is being done, it is happening. And we ARE it AS it is happening. We are not the creators or authors of it, of any of it. Until that is seen, the belief goes on that there is a " me " that has control over things. (I've chatted with the head of my department about this and she is at the point now where she'll acknowledge " I can't control my feelings, my emotions. But I can control my thoughts. " ) Is that so? The best advice I can offer is: watch, closely, attentively. Such attention is awareness. And you can give your whole attention onlywhen you care, which means that there is an unquenchable urge to understand. Then you give your whole heart and mind to find out. To quote Krishamurti: " Such awareness is like living with a snake in the room; you watch its every momement, you are very, very senstive to the slightest sound it makes. Such a state of attention is total energy; in such awareness the totality of yourself is revealed in an instant. "
