Lowe's Katrina Cottages in the News

The Lowe's Katrina Cottages have been hailed for their design, durability,

versatility and , affordability in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New

York Times, on CNN and in all major news outlets nationwide. In late 2006,

The sonian Institute's National Design Museum chose the Katrina Cottage

1 as the winner of the " People's Design Award. " And this month, the venerable

New Yorker Magazine has tapped Katrina Cottage designer nne Cusato to

partake in their first conference, the New Yorker 2012: Stories from the near

future.

Below is an update on progress in the Gulf, followed by nationwide roll-out

plans.

Lowe's Katrina Cottages on the Gulf Coast

It has been a long process from program inception to launch, however Lowe's

is pleased to announce that the Katrina Cottage Series has been well

received in the Gulf Coast area. If you are a Gulf Coast resident and wish to

view

one of the three Katrina Cottage display models available: KC 544 (544 sq.

ft.), KC 612 (612 sq. ft.) and KC 697 (697 sq. ft) visit one of the locations

listed below.

Several Lowe's Katrina Cottages plans are available to purchase in stores

and include a general material take-off list through the dry-stage. Three of

the plans have " completed material packages " ready to order in staged delivery

shipments. " Complete material packages " include all of the products you'll

need for the house from the foundation plate up. Studs, insulation, fixtures,

electrical, plumbing, even appliances are included. The only materials not

included are the foundation, HVAC system, and the Septic/Sewer connection.

Cottages do require a contractor or skilled Do-It-Yourselfer to build (Note: If

you need help finding a contractor in your area contact your local Home

Builders Association.). The time to build a Katrina Cottage will vary

depending

on size of unit and weather conditions, but are estimated to take

approximately 6-8 weeks to construct.

General material take-offs are available for all plans offered, however, the

Lowe's Katrina Cottage " complete material packages " are only available in

the Gulf Coast for the three plans listed below:

KC 544 $29,850.00 (plus delivery and taxes)

KC 612 $35,250.00 (plus delivery and taxes)

38ft. long x 18ft. wide

Store model open for tour at the Lowe's store off Elysian Fields in New

Orleans, LA

KC 697 $47,700.00 (plus delivery and taxes)

33.5ft. long x 24ft. wide

1.5 bedrooms, 1 bath

Excludes foundation, HVAC, and septic/sewer connection

Store model open for tours at the Lowe's store in Gautier, MS

into the Lowe's Cottage Series. Current plans range from 544-1,200 square

feet, with several of the plans having options which expand up to 1,800 square

feet.
