Guest guest
I am in my 8th month and my levels have not changed at all really. I asked my doctor about this and she says she sees most of her patients change more drastically after pregnancy. I plan on getting checked pretty soon after I give birth. Guest guest
I waited a bit after delivery to have my thyroid tested.. I felt good and wasn't sure if my number would come back wonky. I had November 8th (2010) and was first tested in January.. so about 8-10 weeks. My labs came back fabulous.. so we stayed at that dose even though I had required several bumps during my pregnancy. Since that time, I have been tested every 3 months or so.. or whenever I felt I needed to be tested and I have required a few more dose increases. I cannot say that I had any of the PP thyroid issues that I've heard about... I've actually felt good the past 17 months..
Guest guest
This is very interesting to me that you stayed at your higher dosage. I actually delivered my baby yesterday, at 36 weeks so 4 weeks early. We are both doing great. He is small but has had no problems. My Dr. has already ordered me new meds and wants me to go back down to the stable dosage I was on before getting pregnant. Keep in mind that my dosage was only bumped up the last two months of pregnancy. I am also pretty sure that if my original dosage proves to be too low that there's an in between dosage that I can bump it up to without us going as high as we bumped it during the pregnancy. We are going to do blood tests again in 4 weeks to see where I am at. It will be interesting though during the time to recognize what are recovering from pregnancy symptoms, sleep deprivation from being up with the baby at night and change in thyroid dosage symptoms. > > I waited a bit after delivery to have my thyroid tested.. Guest guest
First.. Congratulations!!! Welcome new little one!!! Interesting - came @ 36 weeks 6 days - perfectly healthy, just small. Our pedi at the hospital said when he did his testing of he felt he was a 38 1/2 week baby.. Whatever they " test " .. I have read about a connection between thyroid and early delivery... I agree 100% with .. and maybe the reason I need more and more thyroid medication is that I am still breastfeeding - 18 months now. I had oversupply with and had to fight that for several months. It is very hard to tell between exhaustion from the baby and exhaustion from thyroid. I had to watch for some of the other thyroid signs - for me - like inability to sleep, constipation, etc .. Enjoy this time! What a wonderful present!
