Guest guest
You need a thyroid sonogram. >> Even "properly" medicated I have that full feeling in my throat. > > I have problems wearing necklaces or shirts close to the neck.> > anyone had this feeling go away? Guest guest
How do you know you are properly medicated? Do you have any other symptoms? Would you like to post your labs? A suppressive dose is generally required to shrink a goiter. >> Even "properly" medicated I have that full feeling in my throat. > > I have problems wearing necklaces or shirts close to the neck.> > anyone had this feeling go away? Guest guest
I'm suppressed. My TSH has been <0.006 for as long as I can remember... Labs from Jan 2012 FT4 1.4 (.82 - 1.77) FT3 2.9... (2.0- 4.4) Prior to labs I was on 240 mg. We increased that to 300 mg after these labs. I guess it's probably time to have labs drawn again. I am on compounded Naturethroid. I had a sonogram last year - January 2011 - which showed a slightly enlarged thyroid. Some nodules but they were all tiny. Nothing even large enough to biopsy. I've had this feeling for years and years - never able to wear even tight crew neck t-shirts. Not that we need it in North Texas, but I haven't worn a turtle neck in 10 years. Jan- I know that you don't care for Family Drug or Pharmacy or whatever they are called. I have been using them 2+ years now. Do you think that might play into this? Should I try to use WIP? Guest guest
Oops to correct. I was at 270 mg in Jan 2012 and increased to 300 mg after that. I have an 18 month old. It seems that during pregnancy we just kept increasing my medication. Since having I have increased medications twice...
Guest guest
Do try WIP. I have been entirely happy with them, except when they started putting a preservative in their creams. All compounders now put preservatives in their creams and gels. You may need a much lower dose. It appears that your compound from Family Drug may be subpotent, as were the s*e*x and adrenal hormones I got from them. For your first month or so, you may wish to ask your doc to write for multiple 30 mg or 60 mg capsules, so you can adjust accordingly. It has been quite a few years since I used AFD, but at the time, WIP was cheaper, faster, and used much smaller capsules. WIP can also put your thyroid in clear thin-walled capsules for sublingual use, if your doc writes for that. My doc called in a new script for pregnenolone on Wednesday. I got notice yesterday that it had shipped. If your Free T3 levels do not come up on the thyroid from WIP, then you need to investigate RT3 levels. You may need less NT and more synthetic T3. >> I'm suppressed.> > My TSH has been <0.006 for as long as I can remember...> > Labs from Jan 2012 > FT4 1.4 (.82 - 1.77)> FT3 2.9...
