Hashi's and Iodine

My new hormone doc gave me an Rx for liquid iodine from compounding pharmacy, 5

drops in water or juice 3 x day, but I took it just once a week, b/c I have

Hashi's and wanted to try it out first. It's called SSKI, potassium iodide

pharmaceutical grade. I've spoken about it before here.

It was to help my thyroid and adrenals. I have had no bad results, only good

results! A good side-effect is that when I feel a sinus infection pressure

coming on, I take extra, and it opens up my sinuses, my nose runs like crazy, I

blow out all the green stuff (sorry) for several days, until it's totally clear,

and i never have to go to the PCP for abx and buy and take them!!!, get a vag

yeast inf, and two weeks later, do it all over again -- to heck with that! I

have found the answer!!

I do not know HOW he knew this about the sinus part, but he said it was okay to

take the iodine w/ Hashi's, we need some iodine, just not a lot, and to take it

when i felt the sinus pressure coming on. The man is a genius.

So for him, iodine in moderation is okay if I tolerate it well, and I do.

In case you did not know, T4 is named T4 b/c it has 4 iodine molecules. Body

knocks one off to make T3 to use, which has only 3 iodine molecules. if you are

not getting enough iodine in your diet, how can it make T4 or T3? Iodized salt

is not enough, altho I still use it some. (I have an edema problem w/ my heart

med, so I go light on the salt, perhaps why salt didn't work, I didn't take

enough long enough).

Just my story, hope it helps. Vicki K
