Guest guest
I was doing a worksheet on wanting to get published an article I'm writing about seeing Katrina and Rita hurricanes as emerge-ncies; emerging life. Part of me is saying no, don't even try. Remember all the times you've submitted stuff but nobody thought them good enough to publish. So I'm doing a worksheet on it, and I see pick up the emerge- ncy paper I wrote and she burns it! And I see and sense total love in that act. Then I see this huge bonfire of all the articles I dream of ever writing. Then I experience putting me on a rotisserie spit, and turning me over a fire. Is a pyromaniac? Maybe. It reminded me of the following story/poem that has helped me get through a few tough times. (I changed all the He's to She's) ----------------------------------------------------- THE REFINER'S FIRE She sat by a fire of seven-fold heat, As She watched by the precious ore, And closer She bent with a searching gaze As She heated it more and more. She knew She had ore that could stand the test, And She wanted the finest gold To mould as a crown for the King to wear, Set with gems with a price untold. So She laid our gold in the burning fire, Tho we fain would have said Her 'Nay,' And She watched the dross that we had not seen, And it melted and passed away. And the gold grew brighter and yet more bright, But our eyes were so dim with tears, We saw but the fire - not the Master's hand, And questioned with anxious fears. Yet our gold shone out with a richer glow, As it mirrored a Form above, That bent o'er the fire, tho' unseen by us, With a look of ineffable love. Can we think that it pleases Her loving heart To cause us a moment's pain? Ah, no! but She saw through the present cross The bliss of eternal gain. So She waited there with a watchful eye, With a love that is strong and sure, And Her gold did not suffer a bit more heat, Than was needed to make it pure. ----------------------------------------------- DROSS BURNING PARTY Tonight at my place
