Guest guest
I have to visit my doc once a year in order to get my meds filled. I was diagnosed the day I was born with bronchial asthma. I'm 55 now and am a severe asthmatic. I do well on 3 treatments on my nebulizeer a day, and advair once 250/50 once a day. I should use it twice, but it will be around longer. My stupid doctor wants to wean me off my nebulizer to 3-4 times a week. He thinks that by putting me on advair 500/50 twice a day, that it can be done. Without my 3 times daily use of my nebulizer within a few hours I will suffocate to death. I'm scared senseless and don't know what to do. I don't know where my doc come up with this crazy idea. I've been on my nebulizer for 21 years 3 times a day. I lived in WV and had another doctor. But I've been in SC now for 10 years. I don't have insurance and never will be able to afford it. I get advair through a program free for now. But it won't last forever and I'll never be able to afford advair at even one disc a month at $200.00 each. I don't even use a whole vial for each treatment. I get atleast two uses from one vial, but I still need it 3 times a day, plus the pocket inhaler inbetween. This just happened because a nurse and whoever was on duty at the time in the office when I called in for refills thought I was using too much of it. They said the general public of asthmatics dosen't use a nebullizer only 2-4 times a week. But there are those of us that are not that lucky. Please someone tell me what to do. lynn
