Guest guest
2 questions: 1) do you have full coverage insurance? If the answer to that is yes, then... 2) is there a cliff near by? Dan Dan & Carmella [] Mold Smell in Car Can anyone tell me how to get the mold out of my car air vents? Everytime I drive I get a migrane. I know that someone at one point mentioned grapseed oil - where do you put it? Does that kill the mold, or just the smell? Thanks
Guest guest
You really can't just spray something in there and call it a day. You have to remove it. What year/model is the car? Some newer cars have cabin air filters. If yours does and it has never been changed and the environment is right, it MAY be your fungal source. There are several ways to " remediate " your car, and I would be glad to help you do this on your own, but in my continuing research of mycology and restoration industry standards, I would say there are no generally accepted standards for ANY remediation that conclude application of a chemical is enough. --- In , " moldcankill " <moldcankill@...> wrote: > > Can anyone tell me how to get the mold out of my car air vents? > Everytime I drive I get a migrane. Guest guest
How do people remediate cars? What are the specifics?

Thanks > My 91 year old father had a problem with mold in his car FOR TWO YEARS. The source of the mold was an unreachable, unfixable opening in the partition between the engine and the passenger compartment, that allowed rain to flow into the car and pool on the floor of the car. The carpeting had served as the perfect medium for the growth of mold. His mold exposure, which had been limited to one hour a day, five days a week, was enough to require repeated hospitalizations for breathing problems and other mold-related symptoms. Within 60 days of getting rid of the car he regained 99% of his health. He got a pacemaker five months after getting rid of the mold car, which may, or may not, be mold related. Just because a Google search of " car mold " only shows " vents " , " filters " , and " air conditioners " , doesn't mean that YOUR car mold source can not be something else in your car, such as your floor carpeting. If you can't be sure of the specific location of the mold in your car, you will never be able to " remediate " it. Try doing this " visualization " exercise. (1)Close your eyes. (2)Get a picture, in your mind, of a laboratory petri dish growing a mold culture. (3)With your eyes still closed, place four radial tires underneath the petri dish. (4)Open your eyes and do what has to be done, to make yourself healthy. Joe
Guest guest
We treat our vehicle's ac as a precaution - our previous vehicle had a severe mold problem from condensation sitting inside the evaporator core and providing a pristine growing environment for mold. Everytime you turned on the fan, either ac or heat, you gave yourself a mycotoxin shower. The heat really ramped up the aspergilous - this went on for 8 yrs - we never smelled anything until the last couple of years - I never smelled it at all - my husband & son smelled it off & on. With our current vehicle we use a clean paint sprayer/atomizer tip, use a 50/50 mixture of water/ammonia. We turn on the fan in the car and spray from the air intake on the outside to clean the vents and then from the inside (with the fan off) We do this every couple of months as we've suffered severe health damage from the mold in our other vehicle. The smell doesn't stay around long - a hour or so. We do the same thing to the interior of our home because we've cross contaminated our house from our other vehicle. Smell is gone after a couple of hours - hasn't hurt any paint or wood floors. Even if it did -this is our health we're trying to save. Some vehicles can have problems with the seals around doors/windows. Had a friend who took off the interior door panel and found it covered with mold from a leaky window seal. > > > > Can anyone tell me how to get the mold out of my car air vents? > > Everytime I drive I get a migrane.
