I take it no probs, though I sxtick to the absolute lowest dose possible. The info that comes with ibuprofen doesn't say that asthmatics shouldn't take it, just that they should be cautious, as it can, but doesn't necessarily cause problems.

Hi Donna. Ibuprofen is a NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatories) along with naproxen sodium (aleve) and aspirin. All asthmatics are advised to stay away from them. From my understanding, you can take them for years with no issues then all of a sudden boom they can set off an attack. Just what my doc told me. It is a matter of which evil you want to battle. Pretty much the only OTC pain reliever that is tagged "safe" for asthmatics is Tylenol which has no antiinflammitory action in case of an accident. Just pain relief and that is limited. However in conjunction with something else I find it effective. Although you have to watch your Tylenol intake to protect your liver long term. Nothing really safe. Madeline http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lungs_on_Vacation/
