Guest guest
May 21, 2007 TMC Investigation http://www.thekansascitychannel.com/community/13357271/detail.html Several months ago, KMBC received pictures showing evidence of mold at the County Health Department, which is operated by Truman Medical Center. Medical center officials declined our request to visit the rooms shown in the pictures. After our story aired, Truman Medical Center's reaction was to launch an internal investigation into the source of those pictures. Management even hired a private investigator who interviewed employees. Truman Medical Center and the Health Department receive millions in tax dollars to support their missions. This includes the County Health Levy that was recently approved by voters. If mold exists in any of the facilities they operate, management has a responsibility to both their patients and their employees to clean up the problem. It is something they should have done immediately. Their decision to launch a witch hunt for a whistleblower was a waste of money that should have been spent on patient care.
