Guest guest
Hi Jeanie, Thank you for the recent fee schedule for Judith at the HANDLE Institute! That is very exciting that you will be travelling to Michigan to see her. I will be very interested to see how you and MacKenzie like the exercises. wendy > , > Judith's fee is now $1300.00 in Seattle and $1600.00 when she's > travelling to do an assessment. Guest guest
Our cost for the Handle Institute was $1600. We were told that " sometimes " the insurance companies do pay. Our pediatrician is going to write a letter for us but we really don't know if insurnance will pay yet. My husband and I decided that we just needed to try this as it seems as though we had exhausted our sources for helping with improvement. At our 1 week follow-up last Monday the 4 physical therapist being trained by Judith said that they saw improvement. I too was not sure I saw it. (too close and too hopeful). However after 2 weeks I honestly feel that Karlee's muscle tone has a different feel. I have always noticed how much different my nieces and nephews felt when picked up compared to Karlee. I really believe her muscle tone is improving which surely will help with a fatigue problem at school. We are to keep in touch by e-mail with Judith and will be seen sometime in the next 6 months when she is in the midwest again. When I met with Karlee's 5th grade teachers this week I explained what we were doing. (as well as what CHARGE syndrome is, what Karlee has been through, what a hearing loss means in the classroom and what adaptations need to be made for hearing, low muscle tone, poor balance, and weak binocular vision) I told them that I expect improvement in her condition but I don't know how fast or how much. When I asked my principal for time to speak to the teachers he asked if I would need 15 minutes. (He didn't have a clue how complicated this is) I said I needed at least 45 minutes. It ended up being 1 hour and 20 minutes. Everyone seemed very cooperative and flexible. from IL (Karlee 11 years)
