Both T3 and T4 need to be optimized.

In general, it is a good idea to raise the T4 med first, since it takes 6-10 weeks to stabilize the blood levels. In this case, it may be a good idea to raise both. I would ask the doc for 25-50 mcg of the T4 med and 5-12.5 mcg of the Cytomel.

Do space out the thyroid meds at least four hours from the anticonvulsant.

Why is she taking the anticonvulsant? If her convulsions are not due to an injury, they may be due to hypothyroidism.

I am assuming references ranges of .8-1.8 for T4 and 2.4-4.2 for T3.If my assumption is not correct, then my suggestions are not entirely valid.

Hi, .

I don't know which anticonvulsant your daughter is taking, but I took one for 2

years after brain surgery. No one told me that it interfered with thyroid

function, so I went through those 2 years with maximum brain fog and weight

gain.

It makes me happy to know that you know this key bit of information and are

applying it to your daughter.

Yes, iron is good, all other numbers are good, she takes 12.5 iodine, is supplemented for est/prog. She is taking an anticonvulsant due to seizures as a result of brain injury (injury also impacted pituitary, hence all the hormonal supplementation for a 23 year old.) The only odd lab is thyroid related. She’s on 200mcg synthroid and 20mcg cytomel. She is extremely sensitive to increases of T3, as I’ve understood those with brain injury are. Might just need to increase that t4. Her hair has been on massive fall-out now for weeks. Awful.
