,

Jordan is a remarkable person who is both deaf and blind. I met her for the

first time in Houston. She has the sweetest spirit, even though life has

been so cruel to her.

na and Kim could tell you more.

Dear crew,

I really don't know who Jordan is. I feel as if I should know this person

that everyone admires so much. I've read her bio, but there was not too

much information there. Could someone please help me understand who Jordan

is and what is her situation?

Thank you,

Jordan helped a handful of others begin the crew nearly five years ago now.

Already deaf and mostly homebound, she stayed onine and gathered us all up

while slowly losing her sight. She was the welcome woman and gatekeeper. She

devised whatever we're now doing in terms of greetings to new crew and

distribution of list government/etiquettes. Not content with just these

responsibilities she took it upon herself to moderate oisputes and counsel

both the crew and individuals publicly and privately. She never discussed the

gloaming descending on her vision while she wrote a history of the crew and

its foundation. It is or should be somewhere on the website which she and

Adam conspired to create. She partnered with Jennette to put the crew

on a listserv, moving it from a simple cc/cut...paste group of about 20 onto

the net and began gathering the multiplicity of souls now coupled together as

the Nf2Crew. Eighteen months or so ago she began transferring the multiple

tasks of her domain into other hands--her eyes dimming evermore momentarily.

One day then her voice went black and she withdrew. Her eyes now void though

not her mind. Evidently she's learned braille, written a book about

celebrating life as a spirit of goodness and light and found her way to

Houston where, now wholly blind with stone ears, she manages to enrich the

lives of others like her.

I suspect that the picture of a happy faced, deaf/blind girl with pigtails in

a sunshine yellow dress, populated by blackened braille dots, looks just like

her.
