Hi Kathy,

I also drove with my DH from Dallas-16 hours to

Kentucky and 16 hours back. I never slept once on the

way home. I felt wide awake and was very comfortable

with the trip. I guess I got so much sleep the day

after my surgery that I wasn't sleepy any more. I

checked in to the hospital at 6:00 am and I was the

first surgery of the day. The enema was tolerable but

didn't care for it. My surgery was almost 3 hours long

because Dr. Levin had to find a place to attach my

tube on one side. I came out of surgery and was in

recovery for a while and then went back to my room and

slept almost all the rest of the day. I did get up and

walk in the evening. It hurt but nothing that I

couldn't tolerate. I did not take any pain pills at

all while in the hospital. I have a high tolerance for

pain. If you feel like the anesthesia may make you

nauseous you can tell the anesthesiaoligist before the

surgery and he will put something in your IV so that

when you wake up from surgery you won't be sick to

your stomach at all. I have a big problem with that so

I asked him for it and he gave it to me and when I

woke up I was fine. Hope this relieves any anxiety you

may have.
