Hello-

Sigh. Looks like I have to retype my message. Don't have much time now. But

basically am writing for a friend who has a son with spina bifida, chairi and

tethered cord. Her son's symptoms are increasing for unknown reasons. Her

neurosurgeon is saying nothing is different on his brain MRI or spinal MRI's

(has had several shunt surgeries, never has had tethered cord cut). He is having

trouble swallowing suddenly (even water and his own saliva) and his

bowel/bladder have gone out of control. Dr. says they could cut the tc to see if

it would help but my friend also has concerns about if his brain situation is

part of the problem. Not sure which to do first, etc. Told her about you guys.

So maybe you have some ideas where she could send her son's MRI's for a 2nd

opinion and give contact information? She is currently at San Diego Children's.

Or any other suggestions you have. I'll pass the info. along to her and

hopefully she'll be able to join this site which has

been so helpful to me in the past. Thanks!

Debbie & Ben 5 yrs. (Down Syndrome, Hydrocephalus, TC (de-tethered),

Hirschsprung's Disease, Ileostomy, recent g-tube placement 9/22/08)
