Howdy Gene!

I'm glad to hear that this oversight wasn't related to the position

openings. I certainly can understand how you (or any reasonable person, for

that matter) could have assumed that two years was a sufficient lead time

for EHCAC to agree on a licensure rule.

The intent of my post was not to criticize the Bureau, but rather to point

out the importance of those positions and wish you well in finding qualified

applicants. Again, good luck.

Take care,

Jeff

[] Paramedic Licensure Rule FYI

I received a memo today from TDH that stated the Paramedic licensure

rule has been presented to the Board of Health and,

" Because of our required publication date for Board action, the

recommended changes from the last meeting of EHCAC were not included.

The recomendations from EHCAC that were not included were

elimination of ACLS, Certification testing, and the elimination of a

grace period. The recommendation of EHCAC on these issues was

communicated to the Board and they will be addressed during the

public comment period "

Public comment is October 9, in the Auditorium of the Texas

Department of Health, 1100 W. 49th Street, Austin Texas. I just

thought everyone should be made aware of this regardless of which

side of the issue you are on. I hope the Board of Health received

adequate input from the EMS community.
