Guest guest
There is certainly a pain management doctor, and some of them are absolute ANGELS. They are usually the last resort, though, because that's where you go when they say " we can't actually fix what's wrong with you, so you have to learn to manage the pain " . A good pain management doctor will try a lot of non-destructive, non-invasive things first, and then, if those don't work, will move on to successively less appealing ways to deal with pain. Like, for me, with lower back pain of unknown origin, they tried massage therapy, physical therapy, support devices, anti-inflammatory meds, lidocaine patches, a TENS unit, that sort of thing, and when that didn't work, they moved on to injections into the spine, injections in the hips, stronger anti-inflammatory meds. When that didn't work, they sent me to a different pain management doctor who moved on to much stronger medications (the stuff you have to get a fresh, hand-written, embossed prescription for, every single month, and hand carry it to the pharmacy). When even THAT didn't work, yet another pain management doctor installed a spinal cord stimulator. That doesn't completely do it, either, but it helps some. What you probably got from that was: hey, it would be a WHOLE lot better to FIX the problem, if you can, before you go that route. And you'd be right. Sorry I can't help with the IBS... no, wait, I'm GLAD I don't know enough about it to help, but I'm sorry you need help with it! hello, guysSorry for not writing for what seems a long time, I'm so sorry for that.I have two possible three Questions hoping that someone can help, I saw my Surgeon regarding on going belly ache in the lower right handside, my scan i had a couple off months ago he scaned the oppsite side. Guest guest
I missed the start of this. You don't say what other symptoms you have with this pain. Do you have fever, constipation or diarrhea, inability to pass gas? Do you lose your appetite? Do ever have nausea with it? D Sounds like your doctor is very strange. First of all you need a good internist. What kind of scan did you have done? A CT scan should look for a vareity of possible causes of the pain, such as ovarian cyst, fibroids, gall bladder, etc. Is the pain on the upper or lower right side? How old are you? It sounds as if the doctor is senile, so if you're young you're somewhere under 60.
