Dear callie (?)

> Have any of you gone to the School for the Work?

I did the school 2 years ago

> What was your experience like?

It was very much intensive.

Every day was dedicated to a deferent topic

(money, relationship, death, body ext...)

And we had to do the work on out scariest fears

> Was it worth $3600

Not at all

It was a waste of money!

> and do you use the Work on a daily basis now?

I practice the work, averagly

5 times a year

I am glad I could help ;)

I have been using The Work on a daily basis since 1998.

I have attended many seminars, listened to 100 tapes and

watched a great number of video tapes. I present The Work to

the public at local & Noble book stores and public libraries.

However, I have never attended the School. I have studied this

Spiritual Path (Non-Duality) for 33 years and when I found The Work,

it brought all my previous studies into a lovely clarity and finite

usefulness. I caught what called the Happy Virus in the first

week of using The Work.

I feel sure that the School is well worth the $3600.00.

I welcome your questions.

Thanks Steve for sharing your experience. I recently found the work

and have found it very fun and interesting. It has been easing my

suffering and pain (and, in addition, my dependence on others to

help me. So nice to help myself).

For the moment though, would anyone else like to share a little

about when and how you found the work? How has it affected your

life? How long have you been involved?

Gratefully,

I am happy for you. And I don't believe you.

Even doesn't use the work on a *daily* basis ;)

I hear you,

For someone who didn't do the school

You seem to *know* a lot

And I was the one that asked you to answer her post (privately)

And now I give you a hard time

Sometimes I am wicked, T

Ok,

Here is a hard one

You you didn't tell your wife about me?

And...

Trust me, it is not the first time I am shocked I actually press

the " send " button.

Hey ,

I encountered the work some yrs ago. I was in a crisis and met an

experienced worker. I was impressed. Then I attended 1 seminar about

it. We even had an inquiry group here at my place for a while. I am a

practical person. Learing by doing. I do not learn via abstract

structures. So I went with 'just fill out the sheat and see what

happens'. After a while the work vanished out of my life again.

Now, some yrs later, a buddie mentioned 's upcoming visit. I was

reluctant, for I'm pretty happy in my life and was hesitating if I

want to listen to 'sad' stories at that specific moment. But then on

the other hand i was interested to see her, for i had seen her two

times before. So I went, to see how she 'feels like' to me. i was

really touched by the atmosphere she filled the room with. and by the

ease, that was like touchable, which the work had brought to the

people which were working with her. I had been coming very late to

the event. the moment i entered the room the lady on the 'hot

stuhl' ;) said 'xy shouldn't be uncurable ill' I instantly started to

smile, for i am considered 'uncurable ill'

a few days later I had some real crashs with two friends of mine, and

it brought me a rather strong 'flash back' to childhood stuff. i

started to do the work again, myself. i had to take some 'beginners

hurdles', but now i cope with it, as far as i see, nicely. (consider

the little book as very helpful)

i use the work, the whole!! work when i want to deal with painful

thoughts. (not so often ; )) )

parts of it, during the day, all day long.

to me it made an impact to realise that it is an offer/a 'tool' to

examine your thinking. NOT a therapy, even if it can bring along

'therapeutical effects', and NOT a method to reach goals.

it de-tenses and sets me into a state of unresisting acceptance and

freedom. that's what i love about the work.

i too come from a long spiritual path, (that dissolved itself in non

duality). i also have quite a psychological background. the work

brings it all together in a simple way (imho). : ))

if the work is worth that price you mentioned??? well. if you have

the money, if life opens this path for emily. ... you'll see. emily

will experience her own story. huh ;)

love, rose

Hi ,

Have you ever imagined what it will cost you if you don't go to the

School for the Work?

Just my two cents,

.

Well, when I first read your question, , I thought what you

were asking was How much more suffering will it cost me to not go to

the school. Interesting, isn't it, that my mind went to that

place? I also have the idea that it will cause problems between my

husband and me b/c it will cost so much money and it may not help me

to feel better anyway...

it will cause me more suffering to not go to the school in October.

is that true?

I really don't know.

Can i know that it's true?

no.

How do i react when i think that thought?

I think about how I'm going to suffer forever no matter what I do.

I predict that I will go to the school and feel fantastic for a few

weeks or month and then I will go back to my endless suffering. I

will be great and love everybody afterwards. I will see everything

differently. Everything will be great and then I will return to

this emptiness inside and this endless searching for peace and self-

approval and other approval. I'm always searching...

Who would I be w/o this thought?

I would be in the moment, and appreciative of my journey and me, and

others for being them (or me, however you want to look at it). I

would be grateful for life and living and being touched by these

questions. I would be excited by life and living and answering more

questions. I would be happy to reveal myself to these strangers I

don't even know online. I would be thankful for this yummy beer I

drink as I type and the sun outside that it so hot and beats down on

my skin whenI water the plants. I would be OK with this Tami I

don't know that frightens and intrigues me w/what I perceive as

unpredictability.

TAs:

It will not cause me more suffering to not go to the school in

October.

I can see that. I can still embrace the work w/o going to the

school.

I will cause me more suffering if I don't go to the school in

october.

If I use the idea about money to not go to the school, I can see

that it will cause me more suffering b/c I will have invented a new

story, and i can think about how I didn't do it b/c of my husband

and I'll have another story about that too. The truth of the matter

is that I sort of enjoy the idea of slogging through the work on my

own in my own complicated life instead of going to a

retreat/workshop to find peace. I always do really well when I go

off to workshops. I can be open and myself and find a support group

and then come back to the real world where I find so many percieved

enemies. (did i really say that? Interesting. I don't know that

either one of those statements is really true either. I remember

crying for an entire night at a group retreat a year ago.)

My thinking will cause me more suffering if I don't go to the school

in October.

that's a very real possibility, and it definitely resonates.

Thanks for inspiring that work and Rose. This work is so

interesting. I love how it leads me further to unexplored places.

Callie, I haven't gone to the School for the Work. I went camping

instead and did the work. Then I burned the worksheets, which

started a major forest fire. If they make me pay the cost of dealing

with the fire, it will be at least several hundred thousand dollars.

How about you and I start a free school for the work? But when

people show up, we'll charge em anyway. They might get upset, and

we'll just tell them they need to investigate their upsetting

thoughts.

Whadayasay?
