Mayo Clinic in ville FL is considered very good. However, the trip to National Jewish is well worth it. I have been to Mayo and all those others and not gotten anywhere near the results that I have gotten here. Madeline http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Lungs_on_Vacation/

We live in Charlotte NC and need to get a tertiary opinion at a medical center that is up to date with all the latest and greatest. We have heard of folks going to Duke, Unniversity of North Carolina Chapel Hill, or to ton, SC. We really need to be within driving distance. Our asthma is extremely severe; haven't been under 40 mg predinisone for more than a couple of weeks in years (usually at 60), get Xolair 2 times a months, steriod induced diabetes almost barely controlled, nebs all day, several daily cough meds, etc. We have two daughters in grade school. Our pulmonologist is great and well respected by our other physicians. How do we go about finding the best thing we can to take things to the next level? Thank you.

Hi Dave,

I lived in just outside of Greenville, SC for a couple of years. My doctor there referred me to Medical University of South Carolina for a couple of tests. They were informative, helpful and treated me very well. As far as anything being as good as Nat'l Jewish....no way. they are the best in this country and on a par with anything in the world, imho.
