Guest guest
Hi Kay, We also have problems with closets that are on an outside wall. The warm moist air inside hits the cooler wall and condenses. Closets are particularly notorious as the air does not move much so mold gets a nice, moist still area to grow. We have similar problems in areas where a piece of furniture(piano, dresser, sofa) are against an outside wall causing a similar problem. We use Killz to prime the wall with a mold inhibitor after we've cleaned the moldy area. You can get it at Lowes or Home Depot. Along this same line, if somone is going to repaint a bathroom, a mold inhibitor can be mixed right in with the paint. Prime first with Killz. Check with your local paint store or big box home type shop. I doubt that WalMart has the inhibitor to mix in, but they do sell Killz. Mike McBride O God do not leave me. I have done nothing good in your sight, but according to your goodness, let me now make a beginning of good. - Abba Arsenius To: asthma Sent: Thu, January 28, 2010 1:12:03 PMSubject: See pic (mold) [1 Attachment] Just gross right! this is a pic of my spare closet. There is no reason ( I don't believe) there should be mold in this closet. I'm on an end unit. So I could maybe understand if there was someone on the otherside and maybe moisture would be the reason, but its not. I contacted a company to come out and take a look. I don't know if I should stir up any trouble and contact the city environmental office. I still need some where to stay so I don't know what to do. And I'm constantly cleaning and tidying up. I'm a neat freak. Just don't know what could be the problem. And these antibiotics are driving me crazy (causes certain problems for woman hint hint) ugggg :-( Kay "Two like souls will inevitably attract themselves like magnets"

Guest guest
If you are on the end, it's possible there is a gap somewhere - I have not been to America, but your houses from what I've seen on TV are quite different to the Northern European brick houses? As here, damp quite often comes from where teh mortar between the bricks have cracked slightly. I noticed that the blinds in my bedroom have mould on them, but that's my own fault, as I rarely put the heating on in there so it's often quite chilly, plus I have an en-suite, and although I always put teh extracter fan on when I'm in teh shower, I quite often forget to close teh door properly... Guest guest
Kay -- Diflucan. I pretty much refuse to take antibiotics unless the doctor also gives me a prescription for three diflucan tablets, to take one every three days once " symptoms appear " . The one time a doctor gave me a hard time about that, I told him that I know I'm going to need it, and I don't want to suffer unnecessarily while I wait for another appointment to get in to see him. (And men actually get the problem too, they just don't realize it because the candida overgrowth stays internal. It causes all sorts of weird issues for some guys.) > And these antibiotics are driving me crazy (causes certain problems for woman hint hint) ugggg :-( > > Kay >
Guest guest
Kay do you eat yogurt when you are on antibiotics at all? I generally dont have the yeast issues, but, I know it does seem to help some people to eat a yogurt with a live acidophilus in it. That helps counterbalance the destruction of the good bacteria which is what allows the yeast to get haywire. It may not work for everyone, but if you havent tried it, it might help...and its a natural thing vs more medicine if it works for you.
