I had a hideous reaction to Levaquin. It was not an allergic reaction, but an untreatable toxic reaction. It was in fact fluoride poisoning. I think we need to avoid recommending specific drugs. I quit eating bread b/c of bromine (and yeast too) -- all these are Halides and toxic! > > Right now we use a water pitcher filter, not Brita, the other one (I can't remember!), and I don't know what it filters, but the water just tastes better. Levaquin is another one. You have to watch your tendons w/ it. > > I find a Z-pak (Zithromycin, a macrolide abx) works better anyway. NEWS: They've changed from paks to tablets, so docs can order as many tablets as they want now, instead of paks of 3 or 5! Works good on me, anyway. It's a third? generation of erythromycin. I found out b/c I've been sick and got it this week. > > Thx, Vicki K >
