Guest guest
Some are doing very well with the generic Natural Thyroid be Acella, and others do well on Erfa’s NT. Your endo is simply not well informed in telling you that Synthroid more closely resembles our thyroid hormones. She has it exactly backwards. When I find significant errors in a doctor’s input, I’m glad, because that tells me right away that my working with them is a waste of my time. I have found no doctors want to have me as their tutor. If they are not well informed already, it is their choice. And usually they prefer their lack of awareness. Also, I do not want to be the guinea pig on which they experiment any new ideas. I prefer the tried and true ones who have been on this journey a long time. I went to Launius, after seeing 5 other doctors who were on my insurance plan. I have hypothyroidism in my family and I was displaying almost all of the 20 symptoms. ALL 5 doctors wrote me a rx for an antidepressant of some kind, rather than addressing my obvious thyroid issues. And I had labs which showed my TSK to be 3.9 – way out on the edge. Still, I was told it was all in my head. Launius was the first doc who heard the identical symtpoms, saw the identical labs, and said, “You may think you need an antidepressant for the depression, but I think we need to address your thyroid issues first.” I was astonished and grateful. There is nothing like the voice of experience. Move on.
Guest guest
Thanks for the support and input. I have to say this is the most frustrating situation. I would love to work with a doc like Dr. Launis, but paying 80% for an out of network dic is not an option right now. > > Some are doing very well with the generic Natural Thyroid be Acella, and > others do well on Erfa¹s NT. > > Your endo is simply not well informed in telling you that Synthroid more > closely resembles our thyroid hormones.
