Guest guest
Nina - I know you had the same surgery as me (tight filum) at around the same age. I am having a frustrating time recovering from surgery which was 10 months ago. You said it took you several years to recover? I am really confused as my neurosurgeon thinks my increased pain is due to my spondylothesis but that does not make sense to me as the pain increased after tc surgery and they did not go near my spondo. Just had a cat scan and my spondo has not gotten worse since pre-surgery. Am waiting for an MRI but that is not until May. Can you elaborate on your recovery? If there is anyone else who had this surgery and took a long time to recover would love to hear from you. I know there are many who were worse after surgery but from my understanding most were more complicated cases with lipomas, etc. I really don't want to go through another surgery if there is still hope that my post op symptoms could be just taking a long time to go away. (my neurosurgeon has always told me he wasn't sure how much pain was from my tc versus the spondo, but the tc surgery was the simplest to do so that is where we started.) Hi, I was one week in hospital and 8 weeks off work, back for 2 weeks and then another 2 weeks off I then had about 4 years of SLOW recovery, but only now (nearly 8 years post op) do I feel anything like before my deterioration It is a SLOW SLOW job and nothing you can do can make it better any faster!!
