i decided not to bring him to the meeting. maybe when he is older. thanks for all the input. Sent from my iPhone

YES YES YES

We had our ARD yesterday, and since it ran long (usually does) my son came in at 3:10 and sat in, then went to sleep on the floor, then woke up and started stimming. Didn't say a word the whole time. We were advocating for speech 5xweek. And at one point my wonderful husband said "my son has sat here for 90 mins and hasn't said a word. That's why we want more speech therapy" He's very low verbal. Needless to say we were able to atleast get 4xweek!!

I have a picture of my son as well on my folder, but having my kid right there was even more compelling.

Not for long, maybe 5 minutes so everyone can be reminded that this isnt a game and we are dealing with a real live human and a sweet, little boy for that matter who deserves what he is entitled to by law. He is only 6 and in kinder and I havent told him anything about it so I dont know how he would react in a room of 12 people on a spontaneous occassions. I also think that it might be a good thing for them to see what happens to him in new uncomfortable situations. These are the ones who think he doesnt have AU anymore. He is very high functioning so its hard to see it. And on the other hand he could be totally in control of himself and it all might backfire on me and then they will say "See we told you so!". What have some of you done and experienced with bringing your children to IEP meetings?
