I agree. I seemed to be doing ok at first on the compounded cytomel

from Abrams and then I tanked big. Nothing seemed to help and I just

suffered through it. Dr. Spurlock recommended more compounded T3 and

to take it twice a day. I switched to cytomel and then seemed to go

hyper. I'm now taking quite a lot less cytomel in divided doses

throughout the day. I'd like to add some T4, but I don't think that

Dr. Spurlock would like me to do that. However, I didn't come out and

ask for it. I'm still a little nervous when I go in to see him.

Thank you . I agree. I am on 37.5 now and spurlock stated that he wantes me to take this for 5 days and increase to 12.5 every 5 days there after. I will ask abt the t4...as I feel I need it.c I am going right back into serious hypo state and vomiting at times...not good. My RT3 was only 275 if I can remember. so not that bad but he pointed oiut that he liked to see it lower.

Yes I am taking brand cytomel still. I didn't want to be on timed release t3. I have the cytomel in 5mg so I will be increasing today instead of waiting 5 days. I wonder if this could be why my cholesterol is up as it has never before...and vitamin D so low. But

I am supplememting 10,000iu a day for that. Again thanks MARY.

To: Texas_Thyroid_Groups Sent: Saturday, October 1, 2011 10:57 AMSubject: T3 only therapyIt looks to me like you are on waaay too low a dose of T3. It is extremely common for T4 to tank when you are on a T3 only therapy. IN my experience you may need some T4. The docs that use this T3 only therapy don't like to do that. Several folks that I

know did significantly better when they started back on T4 (or Armour). It's quite logical that your free T4 tanks as the pituitary is far more sensitive to T3 levels than T4. But, your pituitary is trying to tell your thyroid to produce more hormones, which is why your TSH is so high. But, it's likely your thyroid just can't do that. Which is why I think your T3 dose is too low. It's possible that you are not absorbing the T3. Are you using a compounded or taking cytomel multiple times during the day? I personally don't do well unless I take my cytomel sublingually. I highly recommend if you don't have an appt soon to call the office (fax these results) and see if you can't get an increase in the T3 and add some T4. I personally think that this T3 only therapy is only appropriate for an extremely small subset of people and for a very short period of time. I think they can get the same results just by

increasing the T3 for folks and also keep them on some T4. I'm not totally convinced that this protocol is appropriate for folks unless they have very high levels of reverse T3. B. >> Hello all! Hi Susie I am on Cytomel by my request. 5mg so I can take it through out the day as I feel needed. He wrote a precrip for compounded T3 37.5. But I have Brand Cyto here so I am taking that. I had a question about my hormone being next to nothing per lab report with spurlock yesterday. My progesterione is <5. Yes <5. He wrote prescrip for 100MG compounded pill form Progtest E. ?? A little nervous about it I mean I know I need it... but just nervous about it. Should I have gotten the CREAM instead?? Funny though my estrogen and testestorone are fine. :/

Once your thyroid is optimal, then other hormones may come more into line as well.  I have the progesterone in pill form and am comfortable with the pill form over the cream.  TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) patients need to take it in pill form, so my GUESS is that the pill for you is fine.  I didn't end up taking the progesterone, though.  LOL  Just filled the script.

Tenisha, I had used OTC progesterone cream

for years with no significant improvement. The prescribed compounded capsules

of progesterone have really helped.
