Angie,

Aside from your books did you bring other belongings with you as well? Since

you continue to experience a burning sensation in your lungs, you may want

to consider that your books (as well as clothes and furniture) that you

brought with you from your prior apartment may be the culprit. Paper products

which include books can become highly contaminated in an environment where

there

are elevated levels of toxic producing molds. There is no way to clean these

items to make them safe for a sensitive individual. You do not have to have

mold growing on objects to have objects that are contaminated. If you have

developed a sensitivity to mold, you could very well be reacting to the

remaining mold from your belongings.

Okay, so on to how to help myself fight this moldy beast in my

lungs...I'm basically mold free now. The apartment I am in now is

free of mold but I think some of my books picked up the stuff

because some of them are musty. ly, I have a lot of books (3

bookshelves worth) and I am reluctant to put my nose next to all of

them and smell so I can check for mold because I don't want to do

anymore damage and breathe in anymore spores than I already have.

So, I'm almost there. I also drink a lot of water but then, doesn't

mold prefer a moist environment? Completely unavoidable since we

are mostly made of water. Of course, I do own a dehydrator but I'm

a little big to fit in it since it's made for sliced fruits. Thus,

the cure evades me. ;) Oh, but then there's garlic. Sigh. Could

you have picked anything stinkier that I like less? Impossible. As

for avoiding eating molds, I'm assuming you mean mushrooms and

cheese? I can give up the mushrooms easily but cheese? Do I really

need to??? If I do, I will. Sigh. sigh. The sacrifices we make

for our health.
