Smoke from GA & FL

Jackie,

I definately agree with you concerning the smoke that is blowing up

from the south. Sharon & I were sitting on the back porch when we

got hit with it, less than 5 minutes. She coughed a couple of times,

we got in the house and closed up immediately. Five days later her

lungs are still tore up. The effects were a cross between a chemical

and a mold hit. Her lungs started filling with fluids and she has

been spitting, coughing, throwing up all kinds of pretty colors. She

hasn't been able to get much sleep. It blew in again yesterday for a

short time and she put her mask on and this helped tremendously.

I contacted a local environmental doctor here that I haven't spoken

to and I asked the office if he treated or was educated in BRI or

SBS. No and No. Fungal infections? No. Mycotoxicosis? No. Allergies?

No, we send them out. I was ready to ask what the hell does he do. I

still may be paying a visit to the office. Hopefully there are

patients in the waiting room.

Sharon has come very close several times asking me to bring her to

the hospital and this doesn't happen often. I think Hell would come

first. It gets so aggreviating at times, especially the effects it

has had on her just from a brief exposure to smoke.

I believe a couple of years ago one of the IAQ professionals did air

sampling in CA when they were having all their fires. I can't

remember all the specifics, but the levels of everything were

astronomical, especially fungal spores. No wonder why people have

respiratory issues.

Becareful, it's supposed to blow in again within the next couple of

days.

KC,

So it is true! I had a hard time believing we could get smoke from so

far! Gosh, that stuff stunk! As you know, I have trees all around me

so I believe that helped filter some of the toxins on my end but I

was still very sick. Now my sister is very very ill from the smoke.

She is having the same symptoms as Sharon.

I dread the next hit of smoke!

I hope Sharon gets better. If we are feeling such ill effects here, I

wonder how those in Flordia are handling the smoke?

According to locals here and the media, ER & doctor visits are way up

due to respiratory problems. Sharon's is almost like pneumonia, but we

know it is not. Gee, I wonder what they are treating this with????

I don't think the trees will help much, for except lock it in. I can't

imagine how it is effecting those people close to the fires. If any of

us were down there we would have to leave, no doubt.

I have not listened to the news much but my theory is that the

Florida folks are not getting as bad of hits as we might be

getting..well, unles one is close to the fire...my guess is that with

the wind and ocean air will take their smoke out to sea, or to us!

I know that day I got hit I was so sick!
