Guest guest
What does the pill look like? Also, read the bottle carefully and look for the manufacturer, usually listed as a three or four letter abbreviation. FOR or FORE would be Forest, indicating that you got Armour. RLC would be Naturethroid or Westhroid. Unless your doc writes "Acella NP Thyroid" and "brand medically necessary", the pharmacies will substitute whatever they have on hand. >> Is anyone aware of a reformulation or change in NP thyroid manufactured by Acella? I started taking this med in the spring because I read it was very much like the old Armour (before reformulation). I've been doing very well. However, when I picked up a refill prescription last week, noticed a change in the tablet. I've not been using compounded, just the pharmaceutical tablet. It's not as soft or easy to crush - it reminded me of what happened with Armour.> > Thanks for any insight!> > Ann>
Guest guest
I have not heard any thing. I am on Thyroid USP with Acidophiles compounded and been doing well on it, but need to get blood work done again soon. I was thinking do you think the place where you pick up the Acella maybe mess up your order? just a thought. I hope every thing works out for you. Guest guest
It looks the same as a previous refill, small white tablet. The prescription bottle says NP thyroid - Acella Pharmaceuticals. I have in the past had the pharmacy switch and fill with Armour but I wouldn't accept it. Will check with the pharmacy and see if I was given a substitute. If I tried to contact the manufacturer Acella, do you think I could possibly find out anything? as_Thyroid_Groups , "texasthyroid" wrote:>> > What does the pill look like? Guest guest
Yes. Do contact the manufacturer. Have you taken any of it yet? Does it seem to be working? You might want to do a solubility test. Place a tablet in water and and see how long it takes to dissolve. I have had very good luck with the ERFA Thyroid from Canada. > > >> > > Is anyone aware of a reformulation or change in NP thyroid> > manufactured by Acella?
