Guest guest
Irene, THANK YOU. It is hard to convey my thoughts here, but I am a pretty intelligent, aware, capable person, and hearing that I MUST be mistaken when I KNOW the facts was offensive to me. *I* have the paperwork which claims that my daughters disability does not affect her enough to warrant disability. She tied her shoes at three yrs old, well BEFORE any typical child usually does, potty trained at 24 months, walked in the normal range, reads above grade, etc. They almost laughed me out of the building. Unfortunately, there are few ways to quantify ability in a very young child other than self help skills etc. She has never lacked in those. I apologise to anyone who may be offended by this, but it is an absolute fact.she was denied SSI based on her functional abilities.

Guest guest
If you have been declined for SSI and you wish to get an attorney for an appeal, then it is customary for an attorney to accept your case on a contingency basis. they usually want 25% of the amount that would be due to you. (*Note: All attorneys are different, but you should be able to find one who will accept 25% of the back payments if you win.)
