I use stevia. One has to be careful to read all the ingredients. The new

Truvia brand, for instance, does not even list stevia as an ingredient but

states that its rebiana is obtained from the stevia plant. How it's

obtained may or may not be a chemical free process.

The best-tasting stevia products, IMO, have an ingredient list of stevia

powder (or extract) and inulin fiber to carry it. I've tried cheaper ones

but they leave an unpleasant aftertaste, to me.

Sweet Leaf makes one, but I recently found one that's less expensive made by

Herbal Authority and simply called " Stevia. "

For sweet have you tried Stevia? They have packets and drops. They also

have flavored drops for tea and coffee.

Yes, I am hypoglycemic, but stevia is not a sugar. Inulin is a carbohydrate though, that probably converts to sugar. google mentioned similar to fructose. I hope I can buy it without inulin. Vicki KI’ve been using stevia extract for almost 20 years. The brand I used for most of that time was Wisdom of the Ancients, which is now SweetLeaf. Production of the dark extract (by Wisdom/SweetLeaf) seems to have ceased, so I now use the Planetary Herbals extract. All dark extracts have a licorice-like aftertaste, but they do use the complete stevia plant, and having gotten used to the aftertaste, I just don’t much like the clear drops. I tried two commercial brands available in the grocery store (Truvia and one other), and I would caution avoidance because they contain other sweeteners that may cause unpleasant side effects. Other than that, the only real potential problem I’ve notice with stevia is its effect on blood sugar—if you are hypoglycemic or diabetic, caution is warranted, at least until you know how it affects you. ------------------------------------
