Guest guest
That's the best place for it. Keep as much of it out of your house as much as possible. > > Hi new here. Guest guest
Also a lot of people think green moss is mold. Its actually a plant. Although woods see a lot of plant decay, etc, which are often caused by molds, I have never had problems in woods anything like the ones I have had in moldy buildings. Perhaps its that the air is SO much less confined or that the molds are different types? The kinds of molds that spore tests show on outdoor and indoor sampling are usually very different. Guest guest
I'VE DONE TAPE TESTS ON THE MOLD ON THE OUTSIDE OF MY SECOND HOME. STACHY,ASPERGILLUS/PINICILLIUM AND A FEW OTHERS. OM THE FIRST HOME IT STARTED SHOWING ON THE OUTSIDE OF SOFITS AND FASIA FROM THE ROOF LEAKS , THE ROOF WAS SO STEEP IT RAN DOWN THE RAFTERS. IT TOOK SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE IT STARTED SHOWING. DRYS UP WHEN SUN HITS IT AND IS HARDLY NOTICEABLE. BUT DONT BE FOOLED, IF IT'S IN YOUR OUTER WALLS IT EVENTUALLY GROWS THROUGH AND SHOWS ON OUTSIDE OF HOME, SHADY SPOTS WILL SHOW IT BETTER. > > Also a lot of people think green moss is mold. Guest guest
When you say 'outside' is it possible it's on the grass or leaves/dirt? Because there are fungicides you can use to get rid of them. These fungicides can be used on wooden chips too. Yes it definitely would be where it's shadier and cooler on the outside of your house. Have you actually seen the mold or just smelled it? Is it on wood or wood products? I ask because I've had my house remediated so I'm somewhat familiar with the problem. Guest guest
I HAVE A BIRD FEEDER STILL HANGING ON MY FRONT PORCH OF MY SECOND HOME AND QUITE OFTEN IT GETS COVERED WITH BLACK MOLD, WHICH IS VERY CLOSE TO WHERE I NOW KNOW THE MOLD PROBLEM IN THE HOUSE STARTED. ALSO I READ THAT WALNUT AND FRUIT TREES AND IVY CAN CAUSE MOLD PROBLEMS OUTSIDE AND ARE NOT GOOD TO HAVE CLOSE TO THE HOUSE. > > When you say 'outside' is it possible it's on the grass or > leaves/dirt? Guest guest
JANET, I DO TOO. LAST YEAR IT WAS BAD DURING HAY BAILING SEASON AND I'M IN TOWN, IT WAS ABOUT FIVE MILES SOUTH BUT THE AIR PLUMES WERE ZAPPING ME.CORN FIELDS WHEN IT STARTS TASSLEING SOME YEARS ARE REALLY BAD DEPENDING ON TO WET OR EVEN TO DRY A SEASON. ALSO IF IT RAINS FOR MANY DAYS IN A ROW AND STAYS CLOUDY. FOR A WHILE I LIVED IN A HOUSE SURROUNDED BY TIMBER AND DURING THE SPRING IT RAINED SO MUCH I COULDN'T GO OUTSIDE BECAUSE THE MOLD SMELL FROM THE TIMBER WAS WIPEING ME OUT.--- In , Gingersnap1964@... wrote: > > I smell mold outside > > > ************************************** > See what's free at > http://www.aol.com. > > >

Guest guest
SORRY, THE MINUTE I POSTED THIS I REMEMBERED I DID TWO TAPE TESTS THAT DAY AND THAT WAS FROM THE OTHER ONE. ANYWAY, THE ONE DONE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BRICK PART OF THIS HOME SHOWED SOME OF THE SAME TYPES FOUND INSIDE THE HOME, BUT THE SUN HAD CAME OUT AND IT WAS DRYING UP SO IT DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE SAME ONES FOUND INSIDE. WITH SEVERAL RAINY AND CLOUDY DAYS THE MOLD WOULD GROW HEAVY ON CERTAIN AREAS OF THE OUTSIDES OF THE HOME WHERE IT IS ALSO BAD INSIDE. > > > > Also a lot of people think green moss is mold. Guest guest
I'm not trying to be a smart alek, but if you're allergic to hay (mold)and timber, then you should not be living where you are right now.
