Guest guest
Hi all, I have yet another question for you all. (I'm pushing it this week, eh?) Anyway, Kennedy had a little bit of a bloody nose tonight (not profuse by any means), and there was some blood coming out of the corner of her eye on the same side. (small amount) Should I be worried? Anyone ever experience this? I'm thinking that maybe she stuck her finger in her eye, she was sucking her thumb at the time and she curls her index finger up the side of her nose and it goes right near her eye. And, she does have long nails. BUT, that wouldn't explain the nose blood. Any input you guys have would be appreciated. Her tear duct is blocked due to the atresia, anyway you know all this, my point is, if it's coming from the nose and tear duct wouldn't it mean some type of infection or backed up flow? (small amount) , I use to baby-sit for a lady who did this every time she got a blood nose. It was scarey to me because it was alot of blood or maybe it just looked like it to me. She ended up having to get a vessel coterized(spelling?) to make it stop it was just an outpatient thing and it worked. hope this helps, cindy
Guest guest
Jeanie, Hard to say, we are going to the Orhtoptist today, so I'll ask her. I think she might have scratched herself, but I'm going to double check anyway. >Sounds like MacKenzie's goobers, only hers is of the green infection >kind. Guest guest
, Thanks, maybe that was it! Hopefully her orthoptist can tell me something today. (small amount) Hi ! There is a duct (nasolacrimal) that drains from the eye to the nose on each side. Possibly the blood traveled back to the eye. Guest guest
Cheryl, That's what the orthoptist told me today, actually. We are seeing the ophthamologist in September, so he'll double check things for sure, but the orth. says it might very well have been a scratch.
