stopping iron for testing

I need to re-test iron levels, but when I try to stop for five days prior to

testing, I get unbearable aches and an awful heavy feeling in my legs when I try

to go to sleep. Does anyone else get this? What would cause it?

Can I at least check ferritin without stopping my iron supps? I am way overdue

for re-testing because I can't stand this feeling.
