OK, so Spurlock is good for both thyroid and adrenals. And according to her website, it seems Dr Margaret Christiansen may be good for both, as well. I’m tempted to go see her, since she has an OB/GYN background. What do y’all think? I’ve only heard reviews of Spurlock, not Christiansen although she IS in the data base.

Dr. Margaret is good and if you also need a gyn, then she covers that as well.  She does treat all hormones and she is very knowledgeable.   She has dealt with all of these issues herself (she was taking Armour when I was seeing her).  She closed her OB/GYN practice when she became ill herself (adrenal fatigue, etc.).  She then went back and got additional training as a Functional Medicine Doctor.

For folks that prefer a natural approach and would rather avoid Rx treatments for adrenals (and other things) she could work very well.  That's not to say she won't Rx hydrocortisone for example, but she prefers to try natural approaches first.  She also tests for food allergies/intolerances - gluten in particular which is an issue that many folks have but do not realize it.

I saw her for a couple years until she had to take time off due to her own health issues (mold exposure in her office).   However, by the time I went to see her (I was really looking for a GYN that might also be able to treat thyroid, etc.) I was already on an optimal thyroid dosage which she was very willing to keep me on since I was doing well.   She also helped pin point some other hormonal issues and made recommendations for supplements for sleep improvement that really helped.

I think the big issue folks might have with her is that she does take things fairly slowly, so you may not see immediate results and thyroid is just one aspect that is considered and addressed - i.e., it's not front and center.  What's front and center is getting your whole body as healthy as possible through diet, exercise, supplements and treating the hormonal imbalances as a whole.
